2.  How would you rate the Great Basin Experiment Education Center (GBEEC)?

Excellent      21              Good   7                   Alright 0

Comments

It was a pretty good place
Every thing is so beautiful up there
The first 2 days were hard. It wasn't quite what  I expected.
The free time we were given in the evenings was really nice the last 2 days.
I love it here.
I couldn't of thought of a better place for this camp to be held.
Excellent furnishings and maintenance
I like now the GBEEC is focused totally on education
I love how the wildlife has stayed so close to the camp
Very nicely kept
The facilities are wonderful
I wish my house could have a historical background
I like all the world buildings and the way things were setup
Not enough free time, too much in the field, and too much thinking and stress involved.

3.  How would you rate the Land Use Scenerio activity?

      Excellent  12                  Good      15                Alright     1

b. What was the most interesting thing you learned about natural resources?

Comments

Everything is connected to the soil
Everything. I learned something new each
I'm not sure if I can pick on a specific thing. I learned a lot over all.
Burning is good for Aspens, Spruce trees are taking over, and honestly, I thought most of it wasreally interesting.
We affect them a lot more than we think we do.
How everything ties together
Forestry and soils - the different jobs people have
This is the field I want to go into.
I loved to learn more about the soil and trees
There wasn't just one thing. Every professional had a least 10 things that really caught my interest.
It made us think how everything is intertwined.
I really didn't know much so I learned so much and am really interested in it now.
To  appreciate nature - the difference between riparian and wetland areas
About fjords
What one person thinks to do with them is not necessarily what another thinks.
That people will be going to war for water
That I never want to be an extreme environmentalist and a lot about natural resource careers
Still rough around the edges over emphasized in free time.
Didn't think that the ecosystem was so sensitive in so many ways.
I learned a lot of things its hard to pick just one. It was interesting to
learn how much all the different divisions and people put unto the natural resources
so we can enjoy them.
There was so much! I learned about bugs signifying a healthy stream,
I learned the chemicals found in soil and how to test it. Mostly I learned that
I think the Forest Service does a pretty good job.
Too much to write down!
That aspen make up 1 organism
Wildlife and riparian areas
How to tell how old a tree is.
You can tell soil makeup by feeling it. It was fun to auger the ground and play in the dirt.
A lot of study goes into them to keep them growing.

They were all good
The teachers were fun and informational enjoyed them all
TALK SLOWER
They were all so fun. Hydrology was my favorite
On hydrology - it was a great lesson, next year you might try having more people do it together
Sometimes it felt like forever with the pro's if what they were talking about wasn't interesting to you.
In the heat of the day some of the classes were really long.
Some were too long, so I lost interest
Having professionals is a wonderful idea. It is so good to know about the jobs
out there & talk to someone who actually does these things on a day to day basis.
They were all great
They were all fun

4.  My team's group leader was

Excellent           24         Good    3                  Alright 0

Michelle was awesome
Cameron was wonderful. He was there to help us out when we needed it,
but also let us think on our own.
He was very understanding of the fact that we were not that much younger.
He was nice and funny, but not overly   inattentive.
She made it fun
It made all the difference in my experience
She is so cool
Katie was awesome. I felt so bad she had to deal with our team not getting along.
He was so fun and knew his stuff.
My counselor was very good even under stressful situations.
She really go me involved and made the experience fun and interesting
Great!
Katie was fun, and she helped us on the scenario
Cameron was cool. He helped us with everything without complaining.
It felt like she was one of us, but still knew what was going on.

5.  How would you rate the team building games?

Excellent     17               Good     11                 Alright 0

Comments

Little hard though
Don't use nylon rope to save the baby
They were fun this year - just like last year
There's room to improve
Put the "Y" closer together. I had a lot of fun with the games. All I heard was positive feedback
Great, although for return students you might want to switch them up a bit
The councilors really had a lot of fun with it & it was great to know new people
They were challenging, frustrating, but fun
The games forced us to work together, even if we didn't want to
I loved the team games and the games for teamwork
The "A"frame was excellent.
Every game had a good moral to them about life and I thought it was so cool.
I think they were great
Put some new ones in
Very fun
It helped accomplish things with a group, even if it wasn't a real life or death situation,
and it made it easier to get to know others.
I felt they were very good analogies to real life.
Some of them were harder this year, they made us frustrated. But they were still fun!
They helped learn teamwork .

6.How was your overall camp experience?

Excellent       22             Good        6              Alright 0

Comments

Too much schedule changes and not enough sleep time
Good food, great air, nice campers
It was really fun
Good food
I feel like I'm coming away a better citizen for this experience. It has sparked my
curiosity and made me want to learn more.
Great time. Learned a ton!
I definitely want to come back again and someday be a councilor
It was hard an frustrating, It would have been nice & helpful to have more free time.
I do feel accomplished 'cause we were pushed so hard.
I really enjoyed when we just played and had fun. We got to take our minds
off things and have a great time.
It gave me more confidence
It was not what I expected, but I loved it.
I had a hard time getting along with some individuals, but in the end it all worked out.
I enjoyed it all
I never really expected to have so much fun, while learning so much!

7.Would you recommend this natural resources camp to other high school students?

Yes       28                No 0      A great way to spend summer time!

8. What is the best way to inform other students about this camp?

   Comments:

Flyers, ads on the radio
Tell our teachers at school and make them tell everyone
Inform all the high schools ie Fremont
Posters and recommendations
Word of mouth advertising
Taking to teachers and councilors
More of the same. Talk to teachers, counselors etc
Have schools announce it over the intercom
Tell them how much fun it is
Post a sign somewhere
Flyers and Posters
Hopefully everyone had so much fun this year they will spread the word
Send flyers in the mail
More publicity
Leave applications with science teachers

b. what is the best time in the summer to hold the camp?
        June 4  July 20  August 13

9. What could we do to improve this Natural Resources Camp?

  ◙ More sleep
  ◙ More free time

Get rid of the "Y"game
Ropes course was awesome
Dance was awesome
Not so long in the field, maybe 2hrs instead of 3. Not so much time on the scenario
until the end of the week because you don't know enough at the first of the week.
Cut down on the time with the professionals to 2 hrs. Teenagers get bored easily
and they have very short attention spans, but I think that 2 hrs. would be perfect.
Less time in the field, 2 hrs would be good
When we get here, welcome us more and play some something so we can all
get to know each other better.
More sleep in the morning time, not go to bed earlier
NOTHING
More sleep - More free time - that's pretty much it.
